Nigerian Electricity Boosted as FG Receives More Investors

The  federal government has made curtain-raiser to the Iranians and other foreign investors to tap into the vast opportunities available in the power sector in Nigeria, The nation reports.
Mustapha Baba Shehuri, Minister of State for Power, said  with the present administration of President Buhari is committed to improve the power sector in Nigeria through various innovations and initiatives, the country is now an investment hub in Africa.
Shehuri stated this  when Iranian business delegation, led by the Vice-President of Dam and Water Works Construction Company (SABIR), Mohammad Ghaedi paid a working visit to the Ministry, in Abuja.
He said with a population of over 160 million and with the highest peak power generation of over 5000megawatts (Mw), the country has the highest demand of electricity in Africa and urged Iranians and other foreign investors to tap into the vast opportunities available in the sector.
He further said that the government is trying to meet the nation’s electricity supply and access through investment in energy mix, such as gas, small and mini hydros, wind, solar and bio-mass energy.
