FASHOLA URGES NIGERIANS TO BE PATIENT

The minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola(SAN) at the commissioning of a 1.2MW project located at the Water Board facility in the lower Usuma Dam, Abuja, has solicited with Nigerians to be patient with the President Muhamadu Buhari led administration as the government is focused on its quest to deliver on the promises made to Nigerians on the improvement of the country’s power situation.
The Minister said that, the first part of the promise kept is premised on the 2016 Budget which has been passed, and with that, all the power sector projects promised will be implemented.  
In his words he said:

I am glad to say that this dam will wholly be powered by renewable energy, it is going to be devoid of fossils fuel, this will in turn guarantee good health and good livelihood.



The Minister said that partnership with the private sector created the opportunities for the unemployed in the country, He also stated that Annual electricity bills will be subsidized to the tune of 31 million naira.  Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary (Ministry Of Power), Mr. Louis Edozien described the project as a milestone in the evolution of today’s Power sector, which is fast on track to  energy diversification.


While urging all parties concerned about the project to embrace maintenance culture, so as to continue enjoying the facility, he added that the production of energy through the environmentally friendly electric Power is estimated to be 1, 459MWTT annually is pleasing to the Federal Government.
