Ibadan Electricity Firm Terminates CAPMI Scheme

AD

The Management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc. (IBEDC) hereby wishes to inform our esteemed customers that payments for Energy Meters under the NERC ‘Credited Advance Payment for Metering Implementation’ (CAPMI) scheme should be stopped forthwith.
This follows the directive of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the regulatory authority of the Power Sector to all distribution companies to wind down the CAPMI scheme by the 1st of November 2016.
In this regard, members of the public are requested to take note as all IBEDC staff and partner banks have been directed not to receive any payment (cash or otherwise) from customers for this purpose. As for our customers who have paid for meters under the CAPMI scheme and are still awaiting installation as at the publication of this notice, we would like to reassure them that IBEDC will honour its commitment to meter the affected customers.
In order to continue to meet our metering obligations despite the gap being created by the termination of CAPMI, IBEDC will accelerate its metering plan so that our customers can be metered as soon as possible. Further information on how we intend to bridge the metering gap will be communicated.
We would like to acknowledge NERC for the timely creation of CAPMI and the regulatory supports received so far in achieving our metering objectives.
