PHED Partners Agidi Energy On Cash Collection


The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, has signed a cash collection agreement with Agidi Energy and Tools Ltd, as sole Cash Collection agent in Bayelsa State.
The brief agreement signing ceremony witnessed the presence of PHED top management led by the CEO, Jay McCoskey and that of Agidi Energy Tools Ltd on the other hand.
Speaking during the ceremony, Jay McCoskey said that the agreement became necessary to improve the fortunes of the company, noting that non-payment of electricity  bills by some customers were impacting negatively on the company, hence, the need to rise up to the occasion.
By this agreement, electricity users in Bayelsa State are to accord Agidi Energy and Tools Ltd, the required support and recognition to succeed in the assignment.
PHED and the Contractor have agreed to enter into this Agreement for the provision of recovery of electricity debt and collection of electricity bills services in the State of Bayelsa, and have agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions provided “, he said.
According to McCoskey, the collection shall be on State MDA’s, non MD customers and consumers in the Bayelsa State, excluding the Maximum Demand customers.
Areas affected by this agreement comprise the Opolo and Igbogene Business Service Centres (BSC) under the Glory City Main Integrated Business Centre (IBC).
To this end, the contactor and its agents shall be saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that all debt owed PHED in Bayelsa State is fully recovered, including Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.
Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, it will be recalled was connected to the National grid in 2006. Prior to that period, it had been enjoying free power supply from the state’s gas turbines stationed at Immiringi.
