The Port-Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company tied with Enugu Electricity distribution company for the first position in the November safety rankings. The monthly list compiled by the National Electricity Management Agency (NEMSA), ranks the various Distribution Companies (DisCos) across the nation based on the number of fatalities, major Injuries and the number of bad networks resolved.
During the month in review, Port Harcourt Electricity distribution company had recorded zero (0) amount of deaths, zero (0) amount of major injuries and eleven (11) bad networks resolved.
Impressively, the company has claimed the top spot of the safety ranking on four other occasions this year (February, May, June and July) and currently top the safety rankings for 2016. This is also the first time PHED have had to share top spot with another DisCo.
The company was also commended by NEMSA for the increasing number of bad networks rectified whilst stating that safety should remain top priority of all the DisCos and TCN.
