Below is a step by step process for requesting for a new or replacement prepaid meter from the Kaduna Electricity Distribution company.
To request for a new prepaid meter:
Step 1: Application by customer through filling of Kaduna Electric Form 74.
Step 2: Return of completed application form to the Marketing Supervisor.
Step 3: Inspection of the customer’s premises to verify the information filled in the form.
Step 4: Certification of customer’s premises for connection/ determination of appropriate meter.
Step 5: Installation of meter and connection of premises.
To Request For a replacement meter:
Step 1: Report of damage or theft of the existing meter by the customer. In the case of theft, a sworn affidavit and police report shall be attached to the report.
Step 2: Inspection of customer’s premises.
Step 3: Certification of the cause of damage/theft of the meter.
Step 4: If the customer is found to be innocent of any act of negligence, tampering or unauthorized handling of the meter, a new meter will be immediately released, but where the customer is found to be blameworthy, he shall be asked to pay the cost of the damaged meter.
