The Mobile Electricity Service by MTN was launched on Monday 20 February 2017 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. MTN Nigeria is partnering with Lumos, a solar energy facilitator and marketer to launch mobile solar electricity systems for the benefit of families and businesses around the country.
The solution is marketed as the Lumos Mobile Electricity Service powered by MTN, and it promises to promote development and improve the daily lives of Nigerians. The product has a pack of advantages, one of which is the noise-free and fume-free nature of the product. Consumers will also be able to conveniently pay for this innovative product with airtime from a MTN mobile phone. The device also comes with a 5-year warranty, can light up bulbs and power appliances like fans, televisions, cellphones and computers.
