Ikeja Electric Pleads With Residents To Shun Vandalism

The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company has once again sought the cooperation of its customers in the fight against Vandalism. The company has over time past decried high rate of vandalism and electricity theft across its network, sabotaging its efforts towards improved power supply.

Ikeja Electric said that vandalism is a serious draw-back to its progress and the power sector as a whole. The company made this statement via a short video, explaining that the cost incurred in repairing vandalized equipment could be used instead to improve the current network for better power supply. They explained that the effects of vandalism to the entire electricity value chain cannot be overemphasized.

Finally, electricity consumers and residents were advised to be vigilant and report any form of electricity theft to the distribution company or the nearest authority.
