The Kogi state House of Assembly members meeting that was scheduled to hold this week was cancelled due to lack of power supply at the legislature. This is the second time this week that the House of Assembly will fail to meet due to the power situation at the legislature.
The lack of electricity in the building has led to unbearable heat, hindering the members from successfully holding a meeting. It was, however, reported that the generator which was meant to serve as alternative power supply, has been faulty for a while now and has not been fixed.
Matthew Kolawole, the majority leader, moved the motion for the adjournment of the meeting saying that the place was just too stuffy to accommodate a meeting.
The meeting was adjourned till the next day with the hopes that the electricity situation will be different. The motions that were moved to be discussion were also suspended.
