Benin DisCo Warns Customers Against Illegal Connection

The Benin Electricity Distribution Company has released a statement warning its customer to desist from illegal connections. They made a point that illegal connections lead to overloading of the network which can, in turn, lead to damage of appliances.

Dear Esteemed Customers,

Benin Electricity Distribution Plc. (BEDC) wishes to inform our customers and the general public that illegal connections overload the network and cause damage to BEDC equipment and home appliances.

People who connect illegally run the risk of killing themselves through shock and electrocution.

Avoid unsafe act or using sub-standard electrical accessories like wires, extension boxes and contact fuses.

Illegal connections or reconnections and by-passing of meters are injurious to the network. Be warned that illegal tampering and reconnection is a criminal offence which is punishable under section 1, sub-section 9 &10 and section 3(6) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act Cap. M17 Laws of Federation of Nigeria

Vandalism is at your own risk. Avoid them and make life more meaningful.
