Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC might be facing a lawsuit after an electricity consumer has threatened to drag the utility company to court for allegedly disconnecting the four pre-paid metres in his house.
This lawsuit was filed against BEDC, the Business Manager, BEDC GRA, (Benin-City Sub Office); Manager, Customers Service; Auditor BEDC headquarters and three others. The consensus from electricity consumers is that BEDC is bias and unprofessional in the distribution of electricity in the Edo State of Nigeria.
The plaintiff has expressed that he would like the court to hold BEDC responsible for its actions and to openly put out a declaration that the defendants are liable to pay damages to the plaintiff for the four metres which they unlawfully disconnected from the plaintiff’s premises
