People on the Island area of Lagos may experience power outage due to the flood which occurred over the weekend. EKEDC or Eko DisCo as they like to be called have confirmed that various equipment has been damaged due to the flood. The flood-wrecked havoc on the power equipment in Lekki, Ikoyi, Ijora, Victoria Island and some other parts of Lagos metropolis under its coverage and this has left the residents of the mentioned in total blackout ever since.
In a statement signed by the company’s General Manager, Corporate Communications of EKEDC, Mr. Godwin Igbemudia, the affected residents were assured of power restoration as their staff members were already working rigorously to fix the power.
“Victoria Garden City, Waterfront, Maroko and Oniru injection stations are completely out. We need to look at the extent of the effect of the flood on our equipment.However, we are presently working round the clock to restore supply to our esteemed customers.”
The injection substations affected by the floods included the Lekki Transmission Station and those in Agungi, Lekki, Ademola, and Anifowoshe.
