A recent incident in Calabar has claimed two lives and left some others in the hospital. This accident was as a result of the snapping of a Cameroon 11kv feeder at Inyang Street, Calabar South.
The acting CEO of PHED Engr. Achife in an official statement sympathized with the victims as two houses were burnt. He expressed displeasure over the incident and has assured the community that the said feeder has been isolated to ensure that lives and properties are secured, adding that an investigation team has been constituted with a view to finding out the remote causes of the accident.
It should be recalled that a similar incident occurred on April 20th, 2017 where 8 persons lost their lives in Calabar.
The statement also advised customers, to always adhere to safety rules by not erecting any structure under PHED high tension lines.
