PRESS RELEASE: YENAGOA, AHOADA OUT OF SUPPLY, DUE TO FAULTY TCN 132 KV LINES

The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, wishes to inform its valued customers in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital and some parts of Rivers state that the current outage being experienced is due to a faulty 132kv line belonging to Transmission Company of Nigeria.
In a statement, Manager, Corporate Communications of the company, John Onyi said that the fault occurred yesterday  between Owerri- Yenagoa- Ahoada route of the TCN lines.
Onyi, further added that as a result of the fault, the entire Yenagoa and its environ,  Ahoada, Elele, Degema, Buguma, Akoku-Toru and Abua were affected by the forced outage.
However, he noted that TCN’s technical team has already commenced work on the faulty lines with a view to fixing it and as soon as it is completed, supply will be restored to the affected areas.
The spokesperson, therefore, appealed for the understanding of the customers to exercise patience while waiting for power restoration.
