Electrical Installation Vandals Cause Power Blackout in Minna
Electrical installations vandals have caused mayhem on electricity installations in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The vandals were said to have removed valuable items from not less than 50 electric transformers, cut the armored cable connecting electricity to these transformers and stealing electric cables.
According to THISDAY, the value of the loss to these vandals had been put at several millions of naira.
The state capital and its environs had been thrown into complete blackout for three days running. As a result, business and commercial activities depended on electricity have been paralysed.
The police and other security agencies in the state are yet to apprehend any of these vandals.
According to the senior official of NSCDC, who told THISDAY on condition of anonymity, “Our men are out to get those involved, we did so before and we will get them again.”
